Corey + Mary Ashley {engagement :: Pike Road, Ala.}

How did you two meet?
Mary Ashley: "Our story began in May 2017. I was single and on the search for a sweet southern boy! I quickly realized dating apps were not my forte, and I needed some back up. I reached out to my friend Ryan Norman, and told him I was looking for a guy who loved the lake and had a puppy. Keep in mind I had already stalked Ryan's Facebook page and had a guy in mind, I just needed help getting his attention. Corey was everything a girl could ever dream of, and I couldn’t understand why he was single. Ryan explained that he didn’t think Corey was interested in anyone, but they were actually hanging out that night, and he would try and bring my name up in conversation when the time seemed right. I waited and waited all week long for a call or text. Low and behold, the day finally came that I received a text from Corey. We talked for hours and hours about our dogs, friends, family and of course Auburn football! We quickly learned what a small world we lived in. Corey and I grew up with all of the same people and even attended the same school for grade school and college, but had never met each other. After a couple of days of exchanging text messages, we made plans to hang out in person. We decided to have a casual night in and watch the Predators’ playoff game. I honestly had never watched a hockey game, but going to Corey's house meant I finally got to meet his adorable puppy, Bo. I was very excited, although I'm not sure Bo shared the love at first, looking back. The night was everything I could’ve dreamed of and more. Corey was the funniest person I had ever met. I honestly don’t think I stopped laughing the whole night. Leaving Corey’s house that night, I knew I had found the guy I was going to marry. Over the next two years Corey and I did everything together. From attending Auburn football games, to a joint family cruise, to spending every open weekend at the lake. We quickly realized this was a love that was going to last!"

Corey: "We met through a mutual friend of ours. I invited MaryAshley over to watch the Nashville Predators playoff hockey game that night. We really enjoyed each others company that night and everything just kind of took off from there. I had a good feeling that night that she was going to be the one."

How and when did Corey propose?
Mary Ashley: "Corey and I were headed to Birmingham to see Hillsong United perform on Thursday and had a wedding to attend on Saturday, so we decided why not make a long weekend out of it. Being a night shift nurse, I of course had to work the night before, which meant I was depending on a quick nap during the drive to prepare me for the concert. For those of you who know Corey know that he is NEVER on time, and this day was no different. I called dad to vent about how tired I was and how Corey was taking forever to get ready. Dad kept telling me, 'Be nice to Corey, he too is tired from work. Don’t waste your drive sleeping.. stay up and spend time with him.” I took his advice and talked his ear off the entire drive. However, those of you who know Corey know he hates driving in big cities with lots of traffic, it wasn't long before he was asking me when I planned on sleeping. Here I was trying to follow my dad's advice-- only to be turned down. I felt like something was up, but couldn't put my finger on what it was. The Hillsong concert was nothing short of wonderful! Friday morning at lunch we were trying to make our plans for the rest of the day. I wanted to meet up with my best friend Hollie and go see her new house. Corey kept talking about meeting up with his friends and bypassing my idea to meet with Hollie. I was getting a little frustrated because it was almost like he was ignoring me. I took it upon myself to text Hollie and find out what her plans were for the day. She mentioned her family was coming in town, but was not supposed to be there until later that day-- which I found a little odd because I knew her sister Bailey was already in Birmingham. But again I just let it slide. Hollie told me she was planning on going to the brewery with her family, but right now she was hanging out in Railroad Park. I told Corey, 'Apparently Hollie is hanging out in a park. I guess she must be walking her dog there or something. Do you mind if we go meet her?' He too, confused, looked up this park on his phone. It appeared he had no idea why she was there, but of course we could go meet her. Little did I know he had been texting Hollie all morning trying to come up with the perfect plan to throw me off before he POPPED THE QUESTION. We finish up brunch and head to this so called park. Once we get there I see Hollie sitting on a random bench by herself...with no dog. She told me her family was going to be at a brewery to the left of us in about 30 minutes, and if we wanted to start walking that way we could. Well for those of you who know Hollie know that sometimes she gets a little distracted. The three of us start walking in the opposite direction we are supposed to be in. At this point no one is talking. Hollie and Corey are both behind me texting on their phones. Apparently Hollie had walked in the wrong direction of the place Corey was wanting to propose. So after about three loops around the park, Corey got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I was so thankful Hollie was there to capture this special moment! May 3, 2019 will forever be a day I will remember."

Corey: "We went up to Birmingham in early May for a Hillsong United concert and for a wedding for MaryAshley’s friends. The concert was Thurday evening. I arranged for MaryAshley’s friend Hollie to meet us at Railyard Park on Friday after lunch. After walking around aimlessly for about 20 minutes I finally found the spot where I wanted to propose and I dropped down on one knee and popped the question."

What are some things y'all like to do together?
Mary Ashley: "There are so many things we love doing together! We love cuddling up on the couch with our two sweet pups, Bo and Barkley. We also love spending any of our free weekends at the lake! We love to just escape reality whenever possible just to ride the boat or just float in the water. I have never been so thankful I am marrying an Auburn man! Being an Auburn Tiger was more of a religion in my family, so marrying anything but one was completely out of the question! Corey and I have season tickets to all the Auburn home games. We loved spending every second before the game tailgating with our friends and family. Jordan Hare is where you could find us on any given Saturday in the fall!"

Corey: "We both love visiting friends in Auburn and going to Auburn football games. We also enjoy spending time at Lake Martin with our dogs. We enjoy traveling and spending time in different places."

Mary Ashley-- describe Corey in three words.
Mary Ashley: "Choosing just three words was a little hard for me because there are so many words I could use to describe Corey. The first word I chose was loveable. To know Corey is to love Corey. I have never met someone who had a single bad thing to say about Corey. From day one, anyone I came in contact with told me how much he or she adored sweet Corey and how lucky I was to be the girl who caught his eye. The second word I chose is hilarious. Every time we hang out with friends they all love to have story time with Corey. What this means is we all sit on the couch like little kids and Corey tells the same five stories that make us laugh until we cry. It’s not so much the stories we love; it’s the way he tells them. Corey is a person who is funny without trying to be. He is quick on his feet and always has a hilarious out of the ordinary comeback to anything someone says. The last word I chose is charming. I hoped one day I would fall in love with a southern boy; but boy I never imagined he would be as charming as Corey! He just has a way about him that makes you fall in love with him."

Corey-- describe Mary Ashley in three words.

Corey: " Mary Ashley is selfless, kind and outgoing."

Dylan + Sommer {wedding} :: Fitzpatrick, Ala.

How did you two meet?
Sommer: "I had heard of Dylan Ingram in college because my mom would talk about the cute baseball player from Pike Road that would show up on our TV during an Auburn baseball game. I had heard my dad and brother talk about how they thought he lived near us, but that was really all I knew about him. Turns out, we lived 30 seconds from each other in Pike Road and had gone to the same school and church just at different times. We even had mutual friends, but never met. However, one random night this cute Auburn baseball player I had heard about reached out to me and asked if he could take me on a date. I had my guard up and wasn't in a place where I wanted to date, and I definitely didn’t want a boyfriend. So when he asked, I was super skeptical and wanted to say no-- but through my sister and best friends, I was convinced to give him a shot. We ended up hanging out the next day, and he was the absolute sweetest thing. I still kept saying to him and everyone else that he was great, but I didn't want a boyfriend. It's funny, because everyone around me could tell before I could that he was going to be the one. He was the most persistent, patient, kind and loving man I had ever met in my life. He was exactly the kind of person I had spent my whole life praying for-- plus so much more. I am so thankful for his persistence and for not giving up on me when I was stubborn in the beginning. He pursued me the way a girl dreams that a boy will pursue her and continues to do so every day."

Dylan: "The first time I met Sommer it was over at her house, and I was head over heels immediately. I had always known about Sommer Henry-- everybody did. So, when I was finally getting to hang out with her I was very nervous and had no idea what to expect. I was blown away by how beautiful she was and couldn’t believe how easy she was to talk to. She was so genuine and kind-- and those things still hold true today. I knew I wanted to marry her within the first 15 minutes."

What are some things you two enjoy doing together?
Sommer: "There are so many things we love doing together! We love just cuddling up and binge watching TV shows or movies while we eat pizza and candy-- because pizza is basically a weekend food group for us. We love getting dressed up and going on fun dinner dates. We also love doing Orangetheory together because we are both so competitive. It is so fun getting to push each other to be better every day. I used to joke that I would always be better at OTF than Dylan (back when he was still playing baseball and hadn’t tried it), but that only lasted maybe one day. Now it about kills me just attempting to keep up with him! Also, of course we love hanging out with our family and friends together. There are so many other things I could add to this list, but honestly as long as we’re together, we enjoy just about anything!"

Dylan: "We love spending time with family and friends-- family is always first for us. We love to go to OTF together and challenge each other. Sommer is such a good athlete and makes me push myself more than anyone I’ve ever been around. We love to watch movies or TV shows after work and on Sunday afternoons and eat frozen gummy worms-- Sommer’s favorite. We also love going to our favorite restaurants in Auburn and around the county. We actually have a bucket list to eat at all of the Top 50 US Steakhouses. Sommer loves a filet, and I love any kind of steak. We have gone to 4 out of 50-- so off to a pretty good start since we have forever to eat at all of them!"

How and when did Dylan propose?
Sommer: "September 14th, 2018 was the absolute best and sweetest day. Dylan had told me that he was spending the day golfing and then working at the farm until later in the afternoon, and I wouldn't see him until after dinner. One of my friends invited me to go to dinner and then she wanted to show me some land that her and her husband were possibly going to buy. I didn't know where we were going, so I wasn't thinking much when we were driving around to this spot--until the end when I looked up and realized that we were in downtown Opelika. About that time I started to ask why we were there, and right when I did she pulled out a note that said, "Sommerlyn Henry Ingram," on the front of it. I read the sweetest letter ever written to me and by the time I finished it and looked up, we were in front of this beautiful fountain in downtown Opelika, right next to where we went on our first date. As I got out of the car and walked towards the man of my dreams, I couldn’t believe what was about to happen-- or what I hoped was about to happen. As soon as I got to Dylan, he took my hands are started saying the most beautiful things about how much he loved me and before I knew it he was down on one knee asking me to marry him! It was the most surreal and incredible moment. He thought of every little detail for this day, from the gorgeous roses he had picked out to the new Bible with Sommerlyn Henry Ingram on it. The proposal was then followed by a surprise dinner with our families at Café 123 and a party with all of our best friends waiting for us. The whole night was an absolute dream."

Dylan-- what's one thing you admire most about Sommer?

Dylan: "It’s almost impossible to pick just one thing, but I’ll pick out one of my favorites. One thing I admire most about Sommer is how confident and radiant she is. She lights up any room she walks into. She can speak to anyone and instantly make their day. Her infectious energy and enthusiasm for life is truly inspiring, and I strive to live more like her every day."

Sommer-- what's one thing you admire most about Dylan?
Sommer: "I really have no idea how to pick just one thing that I admire most about Dylan because my list is so long. However, what stands out to me above all is the way he treats not only me, but everyone around him. He is such an example of loving people the way that Jesus does. Dylan is so full of grace, and he is so quick to forgive. He is slow to anger, he is full of compassion, he is selfless, he is genuine and generous, and with all of that-- he is also so full of life and joy. He is truly is my daily example of God’s love and grace."

What was each of yall's favorite parts of the day?
Sommer: "My very favorite part of the day was walking down the aisle to Dylan. It was so incredibly surreal. Seeing him standing there and seeing him so emotional made my heart so full it wanted to burst. Knowing that my parents' prayers, grandparents' prayers, and mine were being answered by the Lord bringing us together and getting us to this moment-- it was again just so surreal. He was so handsome and just moments away from becoming my husband. It could not have been more perfect, and it is a moment that I will cherish for the rest of my life."

Dylan: "My favorite part of the day was seeing Sommer walk down the aisle. She completely took my breath away. She is always stunning, but this was another level. Seeing the prettiest girl in the world walking down the aisle, and realizing that I’m the lucky person that is standing there marrying her was so surreal and awesome. I don’t think anything in my life will ever match the joy I felt during those moments. I’ve never been so proud in my life."

What's next for you two?

Sommer: "We are loving both being back in Auburn and getting to come to home to each other every night. We are currently building a house that we will get to move into right before Thanksgiving, and it’s where we plan on staying for a long time to come! We are just so excited to be building our lives together in our favorite place!"

Sellers + Cassidy {engagement :: Lake Martin}

How did you two meet?

Cassidy: "We originally met at a bar in Birmingham in September of 2017. A mutual friend introduced us thinking we would hit it off. The following day, Sellers asked me on a date. At the time, I was caught up with my first year of dental school and wanted to focus on myself. I actually said no to the date. A few months later, Sellers was sitting in his classroom betting his friends if he ever saw me again that he would ask me on a date. That same day, I was headed to class, and we passed each other in Volker Hall, a building shared by medical, dental and other healthcare professional students. We began to catch up, and the conversation ended with him asking me on a date!"

How and when did Sellers propose?

Cassidy: "Sellers proposed on July 20, 2019. We were having a typical summer weekend at our vacation spot: Lake Martin, AL. Sellers had taken Part 2 of boards that week, so we planned to go to our favorite restaurant, Spring House, to celebrate. Our reservations were early at 5:30 p.m. He said that everything was booked up and that was the only time he could get. We arrived at the restaurant and the hostess explained that the kitchen was backed up. He said he would take us on a tour of the basement, which I had always wanted to see! The hostess was telling us about all the wines and eventually led us out onto the beautiful terrace in front of Spring House where he proposed!! We then enjoyed champagne on the terrace. After, we had a full meal by ourselves. Sellers explained that my friends and family had no idea. He said that he just wanted this to be about us, and we could celebrate with friends and family later. We always go on the balcony to watch the sunset, so after we ate, we headed upstairs. At the top of the stairs were allllllllll of our friends and family for the best surprise ever!!! We laughed, talked and cried-- and it was seriously the best night of our lives!"

What are some things you like doing together?

Cassidy: "One of the main things we like to do is enjoy good food together. We love to have long dinners, good wine and try new places. Even if we are cooking, we just loved to have personal time over dinner and drinks! We also love to spend all of our summertime at Lake Martin. My grandmother lives there, and Sellers’s family also has a house there. We have a ton of friends that have houses there, and it’s just always the best time with friends and family! In the fall/winter, we always take trips to Sellers’s hunting camp. We love just being outdoors with no cell service and fishing together, just soaking in nature’s beauty!"

James Robert + Jami {wedding} :: Pursell Farms

How did you two meet?

Jami: "We first met at some point growing up due to our parents both being in the cattle industry, so not the typical love at first sight thing-- although I've always thought he was so handsome and still is! My mother tells a story about driving by the Parnell's home, and James Robert was in the front yard playing. All he had on was his cowboy boots and a diaper-- she said she will never forget that! Let's just say we met when HE was in diapers! I can't recall what I thought the first time we met, but we laugh about the first time he visited my home. I was scared to let him come in because I told him I didn't want Charli Bay's (my little girl) toys to scare him away. That night, we sat on my front porch in rocking chairs while it rained and talked for hours. Here we are over three years later and the toys are still everywhere— and so is he. James Robert came into my life during the hardest time I have ever experienced. He was an unplanned adventure that only God could have planned."

James Robert: "Our families have known each other our whole lives, so we both would have been very young when we first 'met.' We reconnected once I came back home from Auburn to run the farm and hit it off."

How and when did James Robert propose?
Jami: "James Robert proposed to Charli Bay and I on Jan. 25, 2019. We planned to take Charli Bay skiing this winter and just never made it. So, on a spur of the moment decision we decided to go to Gatlinburg for the weekend and take her to Ober. I knew we would get engaged at some point in 2019, but I did not think on this trip. We joked that he had to propose this year and he said it would be on Dec. 31, 2019. The best thing about our proposal was the inclusion of Charli Bay-- because he is marrying her also! He let her pick out my ring which still makes me smile today, but the cherry on top was when he proposed to both of us. It was just the three of us in an intimate setting just how I wanted it to be. Charli Bay was so shocked she ran into the other room. When she came back to us, I asked her what was wrong. She stated: 'I went to see if I was crying too.'"

What are some things y'all like to do together?
Jami: "Us time! We love to sit and talk. James Robert said talking to me is like listening to your favorite song on the radio and all other conversation are static-- and I couldn't agree more!"

James Robert: "We love cooking together. I like to grill and cook anything in a skillet, and Jami handles everything else. By the way, she’s a great cook! We also have the best conversations that can last for hours and it’s always enjoyable!"

Jami--what's one of the things you admire most about James Robert?

Jami: “His love for Charli Bay.”

James Robert— what’s one thing you admire most about Jami?

James Robert: “There’s no way I could limit it to one thing. Her selflessness, her hardworking motive, her kind heart… there are so many things I treasure about Jami.”

What was each yall's favorite part of the day?
Jami: "James Robert's vows with CB, and when he choked up trying to repeat. His first dance with CB and our first dance. It couldn’t have been more perfect. Also, having the opportunity to walk around during dinner and speak to EVERY guest."

James Robert: "My favorite part would have to be being surrounded by so many people who love us."

What are some things y'all like to do together?

Weston + Anna {engagement} Pike Road, Ala.

How did you two meet?
Weston: "Anna and I have really known each other for most of our lives. She was my sister’s best friend since elementary school, and we’d see each other all of the time. I always considered her an extension of our family. I remember one time, when we were in high school, I was out in my front yard with Anna, and my sister, Elisabeth, helping them practice for their powderpuff game. Anna and I ended up colliding when were throwing the football around, and I thought she had a concussion. She was super tough about it though!"

Anna: "I have known Weston for quite some time. I was his sister Elisabeth’s best friend since elementary school. I would go over to their house growing up and went on some of their family beach trips too as 'Elisabeth and Sarah’s friend'-- haha! I always saw Weston as Elisabeth’s big brother and just always thought how crazy talented he was! He was an outstanding athlete who also was very musically talented too. He sang, played the piano by ear and was the lead of our high school plays. I remember growing up and hearing Elisabeth share all the funny 'Weston stories.' Never would have dreamed he would be my husband one day!"

How and when did Weston propose?
Weston: "I proposed at the beach when we were on a trip with her family. One of my sisters kept people away from the dock on the bay, and I told Anna that we were walking to dinner. I proposed on the dock and our families and friends were waiting for us at the beach house when we got back. I think she had no clue until we started walking on the dock and not towards the 'restaurant.'"

Anna: "Weston proposed on July 26, 2019. We were at the beach with my family for the weekend. It was Friday night, our first night at the beach, and we had planned on all going to dinner. The restaurant we had a 'reservation' at was near the beach house, so we ended up walking to dinner. We were on our way to dinner, and Weston wanted to stop by the dock that overlooked the bay. It all came to me, and I could not believe what was happening. Weston handed me a letter he had written and before I knew it he was down on one knee asking me to marry him. It was such a surreal feeling I had never felt before-- truly a dream. The funny part was that Weston’s sweet sister, Sarah, had been hiding in the bushes and had gotten four random young boys on bikes to keep a watch out so people would not walk on the dock. Right after Weston proposed, I remember hearing 'congratulations!!' being yelled from the bushes and it was the four middle school-aged boys! It was hilarious. We enjoyed time on the dock ourselves with the pretty sunset after he proposed. My sister-in-law, MaryBlan, and Sarah took pictures and then we headed back to the beach house. Both of our families had surprised us with a celebration. It was the best night and I wish I could relive it over and over again!!"

What are some things y’all like to do together?
Weston: "We are definitely ok with just hanging out at the house together, but we love movies – at the theater or at the house. We also really enjoy traveling (whenever we get the chance to). One of our favorite places is New Orleans. The last time we were there, we ate at the classic New Orleans restaurants and had the best time. Our favorite time of the year is Christmas and we go to as many cheesy light shows or Christmas plays as we can. We’ll also go on walks or go fishing on weekends."

Anna: "We love traveling and also love eating good food. Dining at a nice restaurant with Weston is one of my favorite things! Weston and I also love any kind of holiday, especially Christmas. From Christmas trees, to light shows, to fires, to Christmas movies and musicals – we love it all! Weston loves the outdoors, so I enjoy tagging along with him when he goes fishing or hunting. He gets so excited when I catch a fish and it makes me so happy!"

Kenny + Kristen {wedding} Atlanta, Ga.

How did you two meet?
Kristen: "Kenny and I met in October 2016 through a mutual friend at Otey’s Tavern, a bar in Mountain Brook, AL. I happened to be sitting in between Kenny and the mutual friend at a table outside. After a few failed attempts at making small talk with me (I could hardly hear what he was saying), I looked and he was no longer sitting there. Fortunately, we ran into each other again at Otey’s the very next night. I went up to him and said, “I am so sorry, I know we met last night. Did you say your name is Penny?” He quickly let me know that his name is actually ‘Kenny.’ We hung out together for the remainder of the night– went to Waffle House, then ended the night rapping Eminem together in his car until 4 a.m. Our first date was a Chris Stapleton concert in Tuscaloosa the next week. We’ve talked every day since. The night we first met/hung out, I remember thinking he was the funniest guy I’d ever met. I had a feeling that we would become very, very good friends at the very least. Lucky for me, he is now my husband. Thank you, Lord!"

Kenny: "We met at a neighborhood drinking establishment where many of our mutual friends would hang out-- it was only a matter of time before we met each other. The first words we exchanged were when I asked her, "What do you do here." as in her profession. She thought I said, "What are you doing here,” starting off our friendship on an awkward foot. I then saw her the next night when we started an actual conversation, which consisted of who knows what, and we eventually landed at waffle house with some friends. This was when I thought I would ask her out."

What are some things y'all like to do together?
Kristen: "One major thing we have in common is our love for Alabama football. We’re both avid fans, so this time of year is one of our favorite seasons. We love watching the games together, whether that be in person at a stadium or on TV with friends. We are also very, very big food lovers and let’s be honest-- football season produces some of the best food in the world. I mean… who doesn’t love a good buffalo chicken dip?"

Kenny: "Eating and napping are probably number one. Watching Alabama football and traveling to cool places are things we enjoy."

How and when did Kenny propose?
Kenny: "I had gone to great lengths to devise a surprise plan and a romantic set up with flowers, champagne, candles, etc at my house in Birmingham. I managed to get Kristen over to my house with her thinking I was somewhere else, but of course in my nervous state, I accidentally locked the front door so she couldn't get in. She then went around to the back of my house to try and get in and those doors were locked as well. I decided I had to call an audible on my plans and go out back to greet her. She was so shocked to see me, thinking I was in Atlanta, that she slipped and fell on my slippery back porch and busted up her knee. She managed to pick herself up while I popped down on a knee and made it happen."

Kristen-- what's one of the things you admire most about Kenny?
Kristen: "Gosh—there are so many qualities about Kenny that I admire. It’s impossible to narrow it down to one specific thing. He is genuine, nice, positive, humble, hilarious and truly such a good friend to everyone. There’s a reason he’s been a groomsman in 14 weddings (can’t make this up!). All of these qualities are what will make him the world’s best husband. And it is my greatest honor to be his wife."

Kenny--what's one of the things you admire most about Kristen?
Kenny: "Kristen is fiercely loyal, supportive, loving and most of all the goofiest person I know who constantly keeps me laughing."

What was each yall's favorite part of the day?
Kristen: "Kenny and I chose not to see each other prior to the ceremony. I was nervous about how this would affect the timeline, but I could not be happier that we did this. There are truly no words to explain the feeling of the church doors swinging open and seeing Kenny standing at the end of the aisle. It makes me emotional all over again just typing that out. That moment is definitely my favorite from the day. A very close second would have to be the reception. It was the most fun night of our lives, and the band was absolutely incredible."

Kenny: "The whole day was great, but the reception exceeded all expectations."

What's next for you two?
Kristen: "We bought a house in June, so it’s nice to finally feel a bit more settled now that the wedding is behind us. I want a puppy so bad I can hardly stand it-- perhaps that will be our next little adventure! *fingers crossed.*

Parker + Lexie {wedding} :: Montgomery, Ala.

How did you two meet?
Parker: "We met at Lexie’s sorority formal, but we weren’t each other’s dates. I went with a good friend of mine, and she got set up with one of my fraternity brothers, so we all ended up hanging out all night at the formal. I remember realizing how beautiful she was in her red dress, and I was upset when she went home after the formal instead of hanging out with the group longer. Earlier in the night we had added each other on social media, so we were able to keep communicating and haven’t stopped since."

Lexie: "I met Parker at my sorority’s formal! I was set up with one of his fraternity brothers, and he was the date for one of my sorority sisters. We all ended up riding to formal together, and we immediately hit it off. After formal was over, our group was going back to his fraternity house to hang out, and I decided to go home because I had a big test the following week. Somewhere along the way, we had added each other on Snapchat and just kept talking. I told my mom the next day that I bonded with an aerospace engineer-- little did I know I would be marrying him almost three years later!"

What are some things yall like to do together?
Parker: "We love going to Disney World, golf tournaments, eating good food and just being with each other!"

Lexie: "Parker has a knack for being entertaining even in the most boring of places so it really doesn’t matter what we are doing! He is always up for an adventure, so I am excited to get to experience life with him!"

How and when did Parker propose?
Lexie: "Parker proposed on November 2, 2018! He started work in Orlando during the summer, so he was coming back a lot of weekends for football games. He told me that it would happen before the end of the year, so honestly every time he visited I thought it was going to be the weekend, haha! He really surprised me with how much thought and detail he put into the proposal. He and his mom came up to Auburn on Thursday, and I had no idea they were there. He was telling me lies all along to make me believe that he was still in Orlando, and he even called me to tell me he was going to have to fly up on Saturday before the game so that he could watch his sister cheer at her last football game. Some of my friends were supposed to be coming in to town that weekend too, and he had them tell me they couldn’t come anymore to throw me off. My sister was also in on the scheming, and they came up with a plan for Maddie and me to have Christmas card pictures taken in Auburn on Friday afternoon. I thought this was kind of weird at first, but went with it because my mom really wanted them done. When there was no evidence of a proposal happening at the first place we went for pictures, I really didn’t think it was going to happen. At the second stop, we walked around a corner, and I saw him standing in a gazebo on a pond at Town Creek Park. He had strung the gazebo in string lights and had candles lining the walk way. He asked and I said 'yes!' We went to dinner after the proposal, then when we got back to my apartment he had arranged for our friends and family to be there to celebrate us!"

Parker--what's one of the things you admire most about Lexie?
Parker: "I admire how thoughtful Lexie is about our relationship and new life together. She is always thinking of new things we can do as a couple to grow our friendship. She is truly my best friend."

Lexie-- what's one of the things you admire most about Parker?
Lexie: "Parker is THE most sincere, caring guy I have ever met! I knew this before we got married, but even now that we are married-- I see it in everything he does. He makes my coffee in the mornings, cleans the dishes after I cook, and let’s me cry on those days that I miss my family and then makes me feel better by taking me to Disney World. He does everything to provide for me, and I am so thankful for him."

What's next for you two?
Lexie: "Parker and I will be living in Orlando, FL! He works for Lockheed Martin as an aeronautical engineer, and I am an accountant for EY. We are so excited to create a home and a life together. We are excited to go back to Auburn for football games, but also to host anyone who wants to visit Orlando. We bought our annual passes to Disney World, so in our spare time-- you can find us there!"

Michael + Sarah {wedding} :: Montgomery, Ala.

How did you two meet?
Michael: "I met Sarah just over two years ago at a friend’s house where we gathered to
watch the Super Bowl. I just arrived from coaching a baseball practice and knew everyone that
was coming was either married or in a relationship, but that’s when I noticed Sarah by herself. I
couldn’t help but look at her in a sneaky non-creepy way, but I was too nervous to say a whole
lot to her. The following day I asked my friend about his 'home add-on,' but only with the
intentions to ask about Sarah-- which he then gave me her phone number. That evening I asked
her out, and I remember the first time I saw Sarah pulling in to the Firebird’s restaurant. She
came flying in as if she owned the place or was practicing for the Talladega 500 race, but I was
also surprised she showed up after I jokingly told her, "My mom had just dropped me off, and
that I was waiting on her”. We hit it off from the very beginning and from that point on I knew
she was a God-send, and I enjoy every second I’m with her!"

Sarah: "We met about two years ago at a mutual friend’s Super Bowl party. I remember
as soon as Michael walked in the door immediately asking my friend who he was and wanting to know all the scoop she could let me know about him. He was the tall, dark, handsome and quiet type from first glance, which made me really intrigued, so I introduced myself, but we really didn’t talk much that night. I knew I thought he was cute, but I didn’t have a clue that he was interested in me until the next day I got a text from my friend’s husband telling me that Michael wanted to get my phone number. He texted me one day after that, and we went out on our first date that week. Then, we started seeing each other almost every day after that."

How and when did Michael propose?
Michael: "I knew early on I was going to marry Sarah, and several ideas had crossed my mind. My original idea was to propose the Sunday before Thanksgiving when we all gathered at her family’s house, but time was not on my side. Afterwards, it was getting close to Christmas time, Sarah and I had planned to take Christmas pictures with our dog, Sasha, so we can send out Christmas cards. I knew right then my plans were to ask that important question. I reached out to Sarah’s friend, Kristin, whom took our pictures, and informed her of my plans, so we were on the same page. We began taking pictures in front of the town hall in Moss Preserve in Hoover, AL when I grabbed the ring and got down on one knee to asked her to marry me."

What are some things yall like to do together?
Michael: "One of the biggest attractions about Sarah was her passion for baseball because her father is a head baseball coach in Montgomery, AL, and I’ve played my whole life. We enjoy watching and going to baseball games, trying out new restaurants, watching movies, going to the hunting camp, visiting her family and my soon-to-be niece, Mary Landers, and being spontaneous by going on trips which we went to Ellijay, GA last year."

Michael-- what's one of the things you admire most about Sarah?

Michael: "Sarah’s the most compassionate and selfless person I’ve ever met. There’s never a dull moment with her. Her love not just for me, but for other people, is contagious and is felt by everyone she meets. I truly am the luckiest and most blessed man to call Sarah my wife and to share this life with her."

Sarah what’s one of the things you admire most about Michael?

Sarah: "I admire how kind and patient he is towards others. He is quiet and reserved when you meet him as he listens and gets to truly know someone with his kind heart. He makes me want to be a better person when it comes to patience for others in all circumstances. I get rushed trying to check things off my list that I become impatient and frustrated with others instead of just being in the moment and enjoying what is all around me. He has brought so much perspective in this area that I have to daily work to get better at. We are so blessed God put us into one another’s lives and I hope and pray our marriage can be an example of Christ’s love."

What was each yall’s favorite part of the day?

Michael: "Mine was the moment I first turned around to see Sarah in her wedding dress. Words can’t describe how I felt and how beautiful she was. It’s a memory I will never forget, and it was a day that I will always remember."

Sarah: "My favorite part was of course was first look I had when Michael saw me for the first time and that anticipation as we begin this journey to join our lives together. All the months of planning for this special moment is what a girl dreams of her whole life especially when you know you have found the person God has for you. I couldn’t stop smiling at him knowing this is just the beginning. I know he will always protect and provide for me. I feel safe and secure knowing that he is the leader of our family to guide us where we need to go. I think we were both so blessed and thankful to see all the friends and family that came out to celebrate our big day. All the friends that we have made along the way separated and now together as a couple was so special."

What is next for you two?

Sarah: "We will be living and working in Birmingham. We love to travel so we will be taking some trips this year like Blue Ridge, GA which is starting to be an annual trip. Greece is on our bucket list for our first trip together abroad. We plan on starting a family soon! We both love kids, and we can’t wait to have some of our own. Until that time comes, we will just enjoy time together and getting our house ready to have friends and family over."

Grayson + Haley :: engagement {Pike Road, Ala.}

How did you two meet?
Haley: "Grayson and I apparently met for the first time when I was two years old. My family moved to Huntsville, and Grayson’s dad was the builder for our first home. Our families participated in car pools with our siblings, but Grayson did not attend my school until second grade. We went about our separate elementary school lives, but ended up becoming friends once he joined the church band in eighth grade with one of my best friends, Paige. We were in the same 'friend group' and were friends for years until the middle of eleventh grade. We had a school dance where the girls had to ask guys, so I decided to ask Grayson to the dance. It all started from there."

How and when did Grayson propose?
Haley: "Grayson proposed on Dec. 15, 2017. I had just finished up my first semester of grad school in Birmingham and was coming to Huntsville for Christmas break. Grayson had mentioned wanting to go somewhere nice to eat once I got into town and go to some 'secret event' that I believed was a concert as to why it had to be Dec. 15. I knew we were going somewhere nice to eat, but honestly thought it was just because I had just wrapped up the semester, and we wanted to celebrate being back in the same town for the next month. We went to dinner at Cotton Row, and he wanted to go for a walk through the tinsel trail of Christmas trees in downtown Huntsville. We had discussed all we had been through as a couple in the past five years and where our lives were heading together and as we were walking up the steps by the spring, he stopped for a moment and got down on a knee. I honestly don’t remember what all was said at the time, but I was shocked beyond belief and so excited to say yes! I looked up and several of my family and friends were gathered together up more steps cheering, and I was overwhelmed with joy. Grayson had planned such a special moment to my surprise and made the night so special."

What are some things y'all like to do together?
Haley: "We enjoy going to the lake together with our families, hanging out with our friends for football games and regular get-togethers, and spending time with our dog, Kate."

Grayson-- describe Haley in three words.
Grayson: "Haley is compassionate, loving and funny."

Haley-- describe Grayson in three words.
Haley: "Grayson is caring, goofy and dedicated."

Ross + Kasey {wedding} :: Montgomery, Ala.

How did you two meet?

Kasey: "The first time we met was when I was a sophomore at Auburn and Ross was a junior. Kali, my sister, brought a few people to our family land one weekend, and Ross was one of the people that came. We really did not talk to each other much, and I honestly didn’t really remember meeting Ross at this time. I would say we really met and started to get to know each other a little over three years ago when we were both living in Birmingham. We had a group that went to Taco Mama every Tuesday for dinner, and this is where we really started seeing each other and got to know each other. It was fun getting to know each other in a group setting first before we even started to like each other."

What are some things y'all like to do together?

Kasey: "Ross and I love to cook together and go on walks. We do this pretty much every night during the week. We also really enjoy going to the beach and have gone several times a year since we started dating."

How and when did Ross propose?
Kasey: "Ross proposed on December 1, 2018. My sisters, mom and I had been at the women’s Christmas brunch that morning at Frazer, and Ross was in Montgomery because my family was planning on going to our family land that afternoon. I rode with Tara, my sister, from the church to our house, and when we pulled up, Ross was outside. He told me he needed to show me something around the back of the house. When I came around, Ross had a sign that Kali had written on, and he proposed at the house that I had lived in since I was two years old. This was so special because my parents had the house on the market and sold it soon after. After Ross proposed, we walked in my house, and he had invited all our friends and family-- so everyone was there to celebrate our engagement! Later, I found out this was not the original plan, but due to the weather not being great, he ended up changing it and proposing at the house. I remember after Ross proposed, he told me, 'I just couldn’t wait any longer.’ I will never forget that. It was so sweet!"

Ross --what's one of the things you admire most about Kasey?

Ross: "Her dedication is what I admire most about Kasey. Whether it is for something small or something really important-- she is very dedicated and puts her whole heart into everything she does. I am very blessed by her."

Kasey -- what's one of the things you admire most about Ross?

Kasey: "Right after Ross and I officially started dating, I had so many of his friends tell me that Ross is the most loyal person-- and since then, I have seen that to be true more and more. Ross is so loyal to everyone in his life. He would do anything for me and loves me in a way that is a hard to describe!"

What was each yall's favorite part of the day?

Kasey: "It is hard to choose just one favorite, but I think mine would have to be the first look. I feel like that was such a sweet moment between the two of us. Seeing Ross and his reaction to me in my wedding dress was so special."

Ross: "My favorite part was seeing Kasey come down the aisle. I had dreamed about seeing her walk down the aisle on several occasions, and when it finally happened, it was very hard to keep from crying like a baby."

What's next for you two?

Kasey: "Ross and I will be living and working in Birmingham. We are learning to live together and truly understand what it means to live together as husband and wife!"

Ben + Mary Grace {wedding} Montgomery, Ala.

How did you two meet?

Mary Grace: "We do not really recall the first time we saw each other-- probably because we were only four years old! However, we do remember starting to like each other in the sixth grade. We had sixth period together at Trinity Presbyterian School, which is where we grew to become close friends, which led to exchanging messages via AIM and email, which led to becoming an official couple in the 7th grade. Because we have been together so long we really do not recall life without the other which is what made our wedding day so special to us. The opportunity to gather in the church we both grew up in surrounded by our favorite people made for the BEST day."

What are some things you two enjoy doing together?

Mary Grace: "Since moving to Atlanta, Ben and I have found enjoying cheering on our city's team-- the Braves! We both enjoy going to college sporting events and the fellowship that surrounds them. Ben enjoys playing golf, and I enjoy watching him play--especially when it’s with my sister! We also love spending our summer weekends at the lake with our favorite people. In the fall/winter, you can find us at Ben’s family farm with our family."

How and when did Ben propose?

Mary Grace: "Ben’s proposal was very sneaky because I am very nosey and can be hard to surprise. The two weeks prior to the proposal, I was completely consumed in sorority recruitment at Auburn, so Ben and I actually didn’t see each other for about two weeks. The Saturday after Auburn’s bid day was Ben’s birthday. I was focused on celebrating him on Saturday and then taking Sunday as a full day of rest (but Ben had other plans!) He encouraged me to go up to the lake with him on Sunday to see my family which I was content with; however, on our drive up there when it began to rain-- my mood quickly shifted. I was disappointed that we were going to be stuck in the lake house while it rained all day, but Ben reassured me that it would be a great day! We stopped at SpringHouse restaurant on our way in for a quick brunch. Afterwards, our waitress asked us if we wanted to go see the new baby goats. Though I had no immediate interest in the goats, Ben again encouraged us to go look at them. We went down to the stables where Ben proposed! Looking back, I am thankful for that morning together and the celebration of engagement that we had together! After leaving the stables, we went to my parents' lake house where our families had gathers to celebrate with us! After celebrating with them, we went back to Auburn where our closest friends from school had all gather for another celebration! We were overwhelmed with the love that was poured onto us that day—and second to June 22-- it was the best day!"

Ben-- what's one thing you admire most about Mary Grace?

Ben: "It's hard to pick just one thing that I admire most about Mary Grace because there are so many traits she possesses that makes her the beautiful person she is-- both inside and out. However, if I had to pick one thing that I admire most about Mary Grace, it is how selfless she is. She is constantly looking out for others and wanting to help others be the best that they can be. It is evident in all of her friendships where she is always calling to check in, writing them a note of encouragement or taking time out of her day to assist them. She is never too busy and always makes herself available. It is also evident in our relationship where she is always putting me first and placing my needs in front of hers. And finally, in her choice to be an occupational therapist where she will be helping others be the best versions of themselves."

Mary Grace-- what's one thing you admire most about Ben?

Mary Grace: "Ben has an innate ability of making people feel included and welcomed in any situation. I believe this characteristic is a reflection of his love for the Lord and his desire for others to know this love also. This quality can also been seen in his loyalty to his people. You can always count on Ben to be your biggest fan in every season of life. There are many things I admire about Ben, but this is the one I admire the most!"

What was each of yall's favorite parts of the day?

Mary Grace: "My favorite part of the day was walking down the aisle to Ben. All the anticipation of that moment was far exceeded when those doors opened at Trinity Presbyterian Church, and I saw Ben Jones at the end of that aisle."

Ben: "I have to say my favorite part of our wedding day was the moment the doors opened for Mary Grace to walk down the aisle. This seems to be every groom’s answer, and now I understand why. There is no other time in life where you have a view of a church full of people that you love with the one you love the most walking down the aisle."

What's next for you two?

Mary Grace: "After we returned from our honeymoon, we made the move to Atlanta where Ben has taken a job with a commercial landscape company, and I am working to make Atlanta home! We look forward to exploring our BIG new city and all the adventures it will bring!"

Bee + Becca {engagement :: Montgomery, Ala.}

How did you two meet?

Becca: "I never recall not knowing Bee! ;) Growing up together in school, church and supper club definitely built a foundation of friendship that I have many funny memories from."

Bee: "I wish we could remember actually 'meeting' each other, but truth is, we've never not known each other. Attending school together at Trinity and church together at Frazer provided a strong basis for our friendship. We ultimately became good friends during junior high and high school, and it's funny now to look back together as a couple on shared experiences and memories from our lives pre-dating/engaged. Given that, the question that's more fun/funny for both of us to answer is, 'When did you first become interested in the other person...?'

How did Bee propose?

Bee: "I wanted the proposal to be special, but I couldn't figure out exactly how I wanted to do it. When it was suggested by one of my closest friends that I fly to NYC and surprise her while she was there on a girls trip with her sister and mother, I knew that was the ticket! I booked my flight, and the planning began for this NYC rookie. Her sister, Rachel, and brother in-law, Chase, definitely helped me think through various details and their VERY detailed NYC schedule-- which included pictures in Central Park before their dinner on Monday, April 8th. I flew up to NYC that morning, Ubered to my hotel, got ready and headed to Central Park. It was a surreal feeling to be in Central Park waiting on your future wife to show up on the Gapstow Bridge so you can surprise her and ask her to marry you. While they were 'taking pictures,' I came onto the bridge, said her name, gave a stunned Becca a huge hug, and then got down on one knee!"

Becca: "He surprised me in Central Park in NYC! I was on a girls trip with my mom and sister and we were "taking photos" before sunset on the ? bridge. I heard my name, turned around, and there Bee was! Instant tears. The sweetest moment I'll cherish forever :)"

What are some things you two enjoy doing together?
Becca: "What do we not enjoy doing together?! Ha! Simple errands or to-dos are the most fun with Bee-- but our favorite things to enjoy together are live music (especially jazz or blues), road trips, exploring new cities and restaurants together, the farm (especially with our new little pup, Mayor) cooking and hosting friends, frequenting Vintage Cafe too much and shopping at Costco- (lol --free samples!)

Bee: "We enjoy pretty much everything together, but our favorites are: live music (shows at Standard Deluxe in Waverly, blues at Capitol Oyster Bar, Jazz from Henry Pugh in the Blue Room, etc.), sharing good food/drinks at local favorites in MGM and new spots in various cities we're visiting, traveling, cooking, hosting people, the farm, and dreaming together about the future.

Bee— describe Becca in three words.

Bee: " Becca is joy-filled, confident and fun-loving."

Becca— describe Bee in three words.

Becca: "Bee is fun-loving, intentional/thoughtful and kindhearted."

Tyler + Kaylan {wedding} :: Pell City, Ala.

How did you two meet?
Kaylan: "The first thing I remember about Tyler was seeing his smile. He has the most genuine smile ever. We didn’t talk much but meeting him that day began our wonderful friendship nearly 8 years ago. I just can remember how kind he was to me. He just has one of those personalities that can capture a whole room."

Tyler: "I will never forget when I first saw Kaylan. Everyone at school told me about this tall and beautiful girl named Kaylan. The first time that I saw her, I knew it was her everyone was talking about. I can just remember how kind and beautiful she was and how I wanted to get to know her more."

How and when did Tyler propose?
Kaylan: "Our families usually always vacation together. It’s not a surprise when they decide to go on a cruise or a beach trip. We had decided to go to Panama City Beach for the week. A couple of days into the trip, Tyler and I went on a date. We signed and dated the wall at Hammerhead Fred’s and came back for beach pictures with our families. He proposed to me in front of all of the people whom we love and in one of our favorite places to be-- the beach! It was such a special day, and I’ll never forget it. Prior to our dinner date, there was a hotel fire and everyone was freaking out because they were afraid this would mess up picture time-- but it all worked out."

Tyler: "I had been planning for a while to propose to Kaylan at the beach in front of all of the people we love. By this point, I was already in Charlotte, so it was important to me that everyone was there. We had just gotten ready for our date to Hammerhead Fred’s and the fire alarm went off. I grabbed a bag and stuck the ring in it. I tried to play it cool and she never wondered why I was carrying a bag. We finally left for our date and had a great time. We came back and took family pictures, and I proposed to the love of my life."

What are some things y'all like to do together?
Kaylan: "We both just enjoy being together. He’s a big golfer, so I enjoy being at the course and watching him play. We are a big movie couple and could watch movies all day. Being in a new city, we like to explore together. We are both fairly competitive and when I was in shape, I could whip him in a game of basketball. I guess our new hobby should be getting me in shape. It doesn’t matter what the day brings, just being by his side will always be my favorite."

Tyler: "It doesn't matter what we do together, we enjoy it. We do get competitive, so sometimes I have to let her win. We both can be lazy and we find ourselves watching TV when I get home from work. We don’t have to constantly be doing something to enjoy each other’s company."

What was each yall's favorite part of the day?
Kaylan: "My favorite part of the day was seeing Tyler for our first look. He shows his emotions more when it’s just him and I so getting to see him before walking down the aisle was so special to me. I just remember him smiling so big when he turned around. We wrote our own vows and read them to each other; it was the sweetest thing in the world to hear what he had written for me on our wedding day."

Tyler: "I would say the first look. Before the wedding I was very hesitant about a first look because the first time I wanted to see her was walking down the aisle. However, the first look was a very special moment we were able to share together. However, I did love seeing her walk down the aisle. In my head, I was thinking, 'She is about to be wife.' The whole day was just special, but those two moments I will remember forever."

Tyler--what's one of the things you admire most about Kaylan?
Tyler: "Her kind heart. She's so compassionate to everyone she comes into contact with. It doesn’t matter who she meets, she will be kind to them. That is one trait that I truly have always admired. She has always shown me kindness and compassion too. She’s an incredible woman with a big heart for the Lord and others."

Kaylan-- what's one of the things you admire most about Tyler?
Kaylan: "One thing I admire about Tyler is his willingness to try and do new things. Once he has something set in his mind, he will go after it. He moved to a new state seven hours away from his family and me. He didn’t know many people at all, but he was so determined to get to Charlotte and start a life for us there. We did long distance for over two years. Just knowing that he was creating a life for us two there meant the world to me. I am so thankful he is so strong-minded and is able to lead me. I know that he will always take care of me. He also has one of the sweetest personalities. He’s so easy going and kind to everyone he meets. He’s more extroverted than me, so he’s really helped me get out of my shell some."

What's next for you two?
Kaylan :"We are both officially in Charlotte together. I just want to take in and fully appreciate this time with my husband. We are learning to be so depedent on each other, and I’m so excited to see where this journey leads us. God has really blessed us beyond belief and He has continually answered prayers and promises. I don’t know where we will end up in the future, but I will follow him wherever he takes us."

Patrick + Claire {wedding} :: Montgomery, Ala.

How did you two meet?

Claire: “Patrick and I met the summer of 2014 when I interned with the youth group at First Baptist Church Montgomery. I worked under his dad, who was then the associate minister of music, and I remember him telling me he had a son my age. We ended up spending time together at youth camp that summer, and that's where our friendship really began. We kept up some after that summer, but life happens and we went on doing our own thing. It was 2017 when things changed for both of us. I came home from Tennessee, where I was living at the time, for a weekend to help lead a group for Disciple Now at First Baptist. Patrick was also a leader that weekend. Let's just say, seeing him for the first time in a long time brought back lots of butterflies. I ended up moving back to Montgomery a few months later, and he asked me on a date. I don't think a day has gone by since then that we haven't spent time together. I never would have thought that a small summer job would lead me to meeting my future husband!”

Patrick: “Claire and I met at First Baptist Montgomery while she was a youth intern during the summer of 2014. My dad had recently become the associate minister of music at First Baptist, and I had just moved to Montgomery to transfer from Auburn to AUM. Claire and I became good friends after spending some time together at youth camp that summer. We always knew how to make each other laugh, and that's how I knew we would be good friends. Fast forward three years--I saw her at Disciple Now where we were both leaders and found out she was moving back to Montgomery from Nashville that spring. After catching up that weekend and in the weeks that followed, I realized I wanted to pursue a serious relationship with her.”

What are some things you two enjoy doing together?

Claire: "We like to go hiking but also to cozy up and watch movies. We love watching Friends or The Office and football and basketball. We like spending time with our family and friends and our new nephew. We go to church together each week and we love to pray together. We love singing really loud in the car, especially all of the old patriotic songs. We love to just be together and learn more about each other than we knew the day before."

How and when did Patrick propose?

Claire: "Patrick proposed on October 27, 2018. One of my most cherished places is the little town where my daddy grew up. My grandfather has some land there, and Pat and I love to go down there with my family and ride through the woods, sit around a bonfire, fish (yes, I fish with him), or really anything that let's us enjoy the beautiful scenery. That day wasn't different from any other times we had been at the farm. My siblings were home from college for fall break, and my mom said she wanted us all to go down there and spend time together. Patrick's parents came, but that wasn't out of the ordinary either. We even brought some of our friends, but I accidentally orchestrated that myself. We enjoyed the day with the people we loved, and when we were all sitting around a bonfire, right before the sun was setting, Patrick told me he wanted to take a walk. I immediately froze and asked him why, but he said he just wanted to talk about his job, so I went along. We went to this little bench that looks over the water and sat down, but I realized he wasn't really saying anything that made sense. That's when I got suspicious. We stood up after awhile to walk back and he grabbed my hand, said a bunch of sweet things that I didn't really hear, and got on his knee to ask me to marry him. The special part was that we got to celebrate with both of our families and some of our closest friends. I will never forget that day!"

Patrick: "On October 22, 2018, I told my parents I was going to buy a ring for Claire. We had been dating nearly a year and a half and through prayer, I knew that God had revealed to me that she would be my wife. I bought a ring the next day and went to ask for her dad's blessing. I planned the whole thing out with her parents and mine, as well as my best friend, Garrett, and his wife, Krista. Claire obviously knew none of this, and she asked Garrett and Krista if they wanted to go down to her family's farm in the town that her dad grew up in. I knew the perfect spot to ask her--next to a bench her grandfather had had made, looking out at the lake. We spent the day with our families and friends and when the sun began to set, I asked her to go on a walk. Once we got to the spot, I dropped to one knee and asked her to marry me. She said yes and we sat on the bench and prayed together before celebrating with our families and friends."

What was each of yall's favorite parts of the day?

Claire: "I absolutely loved our wedding day! I loved spending the morning with my best friends, getting ready with my mom and sisters, and seeing my dad and brother’s faces when they first saw me in my wedding dress-- but I would have to say my favorite part of the day was the ceremony. I cannot describe the peace that washed over me as my daddy and I rounded the corner to make our way down the aisle, arm-in-arm-- and the look on my new husband’s face made the moment even sweeter. I knew this before, but it hit me even harder in that moment just how incredibly blessed I am. God has given me the most precious gift in a loving and Christ-like husband that loves me exactly for who I am. He is even more than I could’ve asked or prayed for! Looking around at the faces of all our best friends as we worshipped Jesus together made my heart want to burst. I could go on and on about this sweet time of worship, and I know it is something I will never forget! I also have to say that having our reception at the house I grew up in was a dream. That place is filled with more precious memories than I can count and getting to share it with all of the people we love was incredible. It felt like a fairytale and, if you know me, that couldn’t be more perfect! I have so much to be thankful for."

Patrick: "Our wedding day was simply unforgettable. One of the best moments for me was seeing my beautiful wife in her wedding dress for the first look at her house. It may have been about 100 degrees outside, but it didn’t faze me. I was completely in shock that this woman, my best friend, was going to be my life partner. She looked so beautiful. After I had walked down the aisle at the church and was waiting on my bride to be, I tried to soak it all in and enjoy the moment. It was awesome high-fiving my groomsmen and cracking smiles at everyone, but when the organ got loud and Claire’s mom stood up, it got so much better. Watching Claire walk down the aisle was one of the happiest moments of my life. I felt so blessed that God placed me in her path and that we fell in love—in that moment, I felt complete peace that only comes from God. Throughout the ceremony, I could feel the presence of the Holy Spirit as we prayed together, worshipped and looked deep into each other’s eyes as we repeated our vows. It was an unforgettable night—I love my wife."

Patrick-- what's one thing you admire most about Claire?

Patrick: "What I love most about Claire is the love she shows me every day. I can tell by the way she looks at me and talks to me that she loves me unconditionally. She has been encouraging and respectful throughout our entire relationship. She pushes me to be stronger and wiser physically and spiritually. She reminds me to trust God’s timing, which has helped me develop a stronger mindset about patience and how to wait on Him. She always points me to Christ. Everyday I am motivated to please her and to love her more because she is constantly doing the same for me. I am blessed to have her as my wife."

Claire-- what's one thing you admire most about Patrick?

Claire: "My favorite thing about Patrick is his love for Jesus and how that overflows into every aspect of his life. He is constantly pointing me to Christ, no matter what the situation may be. He is always encouraging me to see people the way God sees them and to treat others with kindness-- even when it’s hard. He has the best heart and makes it easy to trust him with anything. Patrick has a heart after the Lord and always shows me grace and forgiveness as we navigate life together. I can’t believe God chose me to be his wife and to have the privilege of serving Jesus with him by my side."

Austin + Shelby {wedding} Ohatchee, Ala.

How did you two meet?

Austin: "I met Shelby on the morning of October 4, 2014. That was the day Auburn played LSU at home our freshman year, and Shelby was my date for the game. I had been set up with her earlier in the week by Cailyn Sandoval. It just so happens that the week before the LSU game, we had a swap with Chi Omega--which was Shelby and Cailyn’s sorority. Shelby and I did not meet each other then, but she enjoyed the swap so much that when she found out Cailyn was dating John, she told Cailyn that if any of his friends needed a date to anything to let her know. Coincidentally, that week I found myself in the extremely rare situation of not having a date. In my shock, I asked Cailyn if she could set me up with any of her friends, and luckily, she sent me Shelby’s phone number. That Saturday morning, a group of us drove to pick up our dates, and we pulled into Shelby’s apartment complex. Shelby walked out of her door, and I remember having to scrape my jaw off the asphalt of the parking lot to pull out my smooth line of 'Hellllooooo' and try my best not to be awkward as I gave her my best casual side hug. We had an awesome time tailgating and cheering Auburn on against LSU. It is always more fun when Auburn runs over the other team like we did to LSU that day. After the game, my friend Connor Koch and I were walking Shelby and his date home. I was actually hoping that when we got back to Shelby’s apartment we could keep hanging out because I just was not quite ready for our date to be over yet. She apparently had different plans though because as soon as we got to the door she thanked me for everything and walked inside and locked the door. Luckily, I have no shame and she mentioned during the day that we had the same chemistry professor and that she was doing well in the class. I was able to trick her into 'tutoring' me in chemistry that semester, and the rest is history."

Shelby: "Austin and I met in October of our freshman year at Auburn. My sorority, Chi Omega, had a swap at his fraternity and it was a blast! Though I did not meet Austin that day, one of my sorority sisters told us that she was dating a Theta Chi and that she would set us up on a gameday date. I gave her my number and a few days later Austin texted me asking me to the Auburn/LSU game. When Austin picked me up from my apartment and we met for the first time, my first thought what a gentleman he was! He opened all my doors and was so sweet, hilarious and polite the entire day. He was such a gentleman and gave me his coat during the game and bought me drinks from the concession stand without me asking. We laughed, talked and cheered on The Tigers the entire night, and I realized how much we both LOVE Auburn football! Austin and I hung out the next few months and started dating officially in December, and the rest was history! Auburn had a big win that day, but it was nothing compared to what I gained meeting Austin!"

How and when did Austin propose?

Austin: “I proposed on Star Wars day, May the Fourth, 2018. I had been sneaking around Shelby since November looking at rings and talking to her family. It was particularly difficult since we lived in the same apartment complex. There were times where I would tell her I was taking a nap and would be sneaking around in the parking lot when she would walk out of her apartment, so I would have to find something to hide behind until she left. As smart as Shelby is though, she was completely oblivious to everything. One time, I even accidentally pulled up a picture of a diamond ring on my phone when she was looking at it with me, and she didn’t even notice. I bought the ring right after Spring Break, which just so happens to be the week that I told her I wouldn’t be able to propose for at least another year. I felt bad for lying, but I knew she would appreciate it later. The week leading up to May 4 was finals week for me, and that weekend was graduation for most of our friends. I told her since I would not be able to hang out that week that we should go to dinner Friday night while our friends were with their families for graduation dinners. She thought that was a great idea, so on Friday we got ready to go eat and started driving to the spot I had picked out on Lake Martin. When she asked where we were going, I told her that everywhere in Auburn was booked up because of graduation and that I thought it would be nice to do a picnic on the lake. She bought it hook, line and sinker. We drove for the longest 45 minutes of my life to a park at Lake Martin. My mom and Shelby and mine’s best friends had been at that park for a couple hours beforehand setting up everything just like I had asked them to. When we pulled into the park, it was lined with mason jar candles leading to a table that had pictures of us, a letter to Shelby, a Bible, and a framed piece of paper that said, ‘Yes,’ from when she agreed to be my girlfriend freshman year. As I put the car in park, Shelby and I looked at each other, and she exhaled a long breath as I suppose why we were there was starting to hit her. We walked to the table, and I told her all the things that I had been rehearsing in my shower for weeks. I got down on a knee and pulled the ring out just like I had practiced. Shelby said, ‘yes’ several times and her left hand shot out faster than any human should be capable of. Her sister, Lauren, and best friends, Cailyn and Rachel, came out from various hiding spots after taking pictures and congratulated us. After taking more pictures, we drove a few houses down from the park to my Aunt Laura and Uncle Greg’s lake house where our family and friends were waiting to celebrate with us. We had Taco Mama catered because Mexican is Shelby’s favorite meal. The best part is that Shelby is so loved that we actually could not even fit everyone into the lake house and had to have another party in Auburn later that night for even more of our friends. In all the excitement, Shelby never actually ate anything though, so after it was all done, she and I went to Sonic to get her some tater tots. It was such a great time, and Shelby and I will always look back and talk about how great that night was.”

Shelby: “Austin proposed on May 4, 2018 at Lake Martin. As our relationship progressed through college, I knew that I could see myself marrying Austin and knew that he would make an incredible husband one day. In the Spring of 2018, Austin and I had a conversation about marriage and, though he confirmed that it was the next step for us, he told me that we would have to wait a year because of his grad school. Little did I know, Austin was already looking at rings!! A few months later, Austin told me that we should plan a date the Friday of Auburn’s graduation weekend. This wasn’t unusual for him at all. With pharmacy school and being college students in general, when we have time to go on a nice date together, Austin typically plans it ahead of time and keeps it a surprise from me. We spent most of the day together hanging out in Auburn, and when Austin came to pick me up for our date, he told me we were going to the lake to have a picnic because all of the restaurants were booked for graduation! However, when we got to the lake, we didn’t pull into his family’s lake house like I expected, but a small park with mason jars lining a walkway to the spot that he proposed! I was in such shock that I barely remember what he said at the time, but he knew that would happen, so he wrote me a letter with everything that he had rehearsed to say in it! Asking me to marry him was the easiest question I have ever had to answer! After I said yes, and got the most beautiful ring in the WORLD, my sister and two best friends came out from taking pictures to congratulate us! After, he had all of our family and friends come to the lake to celebrate with my favorite meal and even more friends waiting on us at my apartment back at Auburn! It was a day of pure joy and I could not be more thankful or more excited to be his wife! “

Shelby—describe Austin in three words.

“Joyful– Austin is the happiest person I have ever met! He is always laughing and joking around and always has a positive perspective in any situation. Even when life gets hard, Austin is always the bright side to my day because he finds the good in every situation and every person.

Constant– Austin is constant in so many different ways! He is so reliable, and I know that I can always count on him. Whether it is running over to my apartment to kill a bug (it happens, a lot) or knowing that he can always make me laugh, he is 100% himself all the time. Most importantly though, he is constant in showing me the love our Heavenly Father has for us and leads me in that truth daily.

Servant-hearted– This by far describes Austin more than any other word. He amazes me the way that he not only loves serving others, but is ALWAYS looking for opportunities to serve me, his friends, his family or anyone! He does so joyfully and works so hard to help others.”

What are some things you two enjoy doing together?
Shelby: “We love to dance together. We love weddings and formals because it is just hours of dancing. We love cooking together. We both really like to travel. We love Auburn football. We love the beach and lake. We love watching movies and The Office. We love our friends and anytime that we get to spend with them!”

Austin—describe Shelby in three words.

“Godly– Above everything else, Shelby loves God. She is very involved in our church, and she loves people like Jesus does. She always points me back to God, and there is no better word to describe her.

Passionate– Anyone that knows Shelby knows that when she is in, she is all in. Whether it is her faith, becoming a pharmacist, or kettlebell class, Shelby will put everything she has into it.

Efficient– I have to include this one because this is always what Shelby says is the one word that describes her best. She always gives me a hard time because I move pretty slowly unless there’s a good reason to speed up. From the moment Shelby wakes up, she is productive and getting stuff done and done quickly. It is something I really do respect about her.”

What was each yall's favorite part of the day?

Shelby: "My favorite part of the day was our first look. It was the moment that I had been most excited about from the beginning. I had so much fun that morning getting ready with all of my bridesmaids, but all I could think about all was how ready I was to see Austin and start spending our wedding day together. I remember waiting inside before walking to out to him, and I was so nervous that it was going to start pouring rain. Instead, the moment I walked outside the sun was shining brightly and it could not have been a more beautiful. Seeing him immediately made all the nervousness disappear as we laughed and smiled and took in such a special moment together!"

Austin: "Easily, my favorite part of the day was watching Shelby walk down the aisle. After years of dating and over a year of engagement, that was the moment where all the (im)patience had paid off. It was finally happening. We had spent a lot of time during our pre-marital counseling discussing how marriage is symbolic of God’s love for us. For that moment specifically, we talked about how me waiting at the altar for Shelby was representative of how Christ will be waiting for us as we walk into Heaven. All the anticipation, pride, and joy that I felt watching those doors open and seeing her in all her beauty was just a small glimpse of what will happen as we walk through the doors of Heaven. It gave me a whole new perspective that would be hard to grasp otherwise, and it’s a moment I will never forget."

What's next for you two?

Shelby: "Austin and I will be in Auburn for the next couple of years as I finish my pharmacy degree while he is working on a master’s in mechanical engineering. We love our community, church and everything about Auburn and could see ourselves here forever. However, we are excited to see the plans the Lord has for our future as husband and wife and plan to go wherever His sovereign hand leads us."

Blake + Susan {engagement} :: Huntsville, Ala.

How did you two meet?

Susan: “Blake and I met when I was 15 and he was 16. Blake was a year older than me, and he was one of my brother’s good friends from the golf team. He actually spent the night at my house one night because he and my brother had a golf tournament early in the morning. The next day, I remember seeing him and thinking he was so cute! I even texted my best friend about him. Later, I found out he didn’t even see me that night and thought my brother was an only child. My best friend and him had a short stent of dating (I even third wheeled with them to Chick-Fil-A, and we talked the whole time.) —and then they ended up becoming good friends. A few months later, she told him she thought that me and him would be great together, and he texted me and asked me to go on a date— golfing (lol)— and the rest is history!”

Blake: “The first time we met was when we went to Chick-Fil-A in high school and it was Susan, her best friend and me. I remember we just ended up talking the whole time and then a few months later we ended up going on our first date. Since I was a golfer, I figured no better first date than the golf course.”

How and when did Blake propose?

Susan: “Obviously, Blake and I have been dating for a long time, so I was SO ready to get engaged. The Friday before he proposed, my roommate listened to me cry in the shower about it and was so convincing that she knew nothing. Blake gave me a giftcard to the spa at Ross Bridge in Birmingham for Christmas, so my two roommates and I decided to have a girls weekend and go stay there. We had a spa day all Saturday and then went up to our room and got ready for dinner. .I actually fell asleep, and was asleep 10 minutes before he proposed. They talked me into walking down to the nice restaurant at the hotel, and when I got to the stairs I saw Blake waiting! He had decorated the wine cellar of the restaurant with flowers and candles, and he had gotten family heirlooms from my parents (silver, white linen/lace table cloths, etc). He asked me to marry him, and then we ate and met our families afterwards!”

What are some things you two enjoy doing together?

Susan: "Blake and I really just love to spend time together! We always love going to the movies, going on walks and looking at houses (pretending we have a million dollars and picking out which parts of each house we would add to ours), playing with our dog, cooking, hanging out with family, and going golfing (Blake golfs-- I ride in the golf cart!)"

Blake: "We’re big fans of movies, and we also like to take our dog on walks and let her run around and have fun. We also like to cook together-- which could be described more by Susan cooking and me helping here and there. Plus, I’m a really good stirrer."

Blake-- describe Susan in three words:

Blake: "Susan is independent, loving and smart."

Susan-- describe Blake in three words:

Susan: "Home, patient and gentle.

Home-- Blake has been with me through so many seasons of life. He has been a constant and when I think of him I’m immediately comforted-- just like you feel when you’re home. He can instantly calm my fears and anxieties. He’s the first person I want to tell every part of my day to. When I’m sick or upset, he’s the person that makes me feel better every single time.

Patient-- I’m what some would call type A, OCD, always has a plan, etc. I love to know what’s going to happen next and life has thrown me a million curve balls--nothing in my plan. Blake is the exact opposite--he goes with the flow, has faith that all things will work out always, and doesn’t sweat the small stuff. He is patient with me every single day--even when I’m not being the best version of myself--and always handles my freak outs with grace, understanding and LOADS of patience.

Gentle-- Blake is the kind of person that has a soothing presence. He is kind to everyone, always willing to listen and to just be there for you. His presence is gentle. He’s the kind of person that stray animals immediately walk up to or that a baby automatically stops crying in the arms of. You just feel like you can immediately trust him. It’s one of my favorite things about him--he always makes me feel safe and taken care of."

James Robert + Jami {engagement} Pursell Farms :: Sylacauga, Ala.

James Robert-- describe Jami in three words.

James Robert: " Jami is independent, loving and selfless."

Jami- describe James Robert in three words.

Jami: "James Robert is godly, strong, leader, calm and confident."

Stephen + Britton {engagement} :: Atlanta, Ga.

How did you two meet?
Britton: "Stephen and I met through the college ministry spring break mission trip our junior year at Auburn. I thought, 'Who is the cute quiet guy?' We didn’t talk much until we returned to campus, and I was trying to sell philanthropy tickets for a dodge ball tournament. He and his friends made a team to compete. Plus, he had a sweet black lab that reeled me in for quality dog time."

Stephen: "Britton and I met on Amplify 2013 (First Baptist Church of Opelika's college spring break mission trip) while we were both juniors in college at Auburn. We were both assigned to the same group to repaint a fire station in the Port St. Joe area during the week. We interacted some during the painting and the rides to and from the fire station. I remember her being very outgoing and bubbly...and asked a lot of questions. That definitely forced me out of my comfort zone, but I thought it was endearing. After the trip we reconnected back at school, and the rest is history."

What are some things y'all like to do together?
Britton: "We love to hike with each of our dogs-- Lexi and Raisin. We also enjoy traveling and already dreaming about future trips."

Stephen: "Hiking, playing with our dogs (Raisin and Lexi), spending time with friends, skiing, traveling, trying out new breweries, going to the lake and eating pizza-- just to name a few."

How and when did Stephen propose?
Britton: "Stephen’s proposal was beautifully romantic with (the a little touch of 'us.') About a year prior, we were emailing while Stephen was serving in the Navy. He mentioned taking a trip to Europe—I was in! When planning our trip to Italy, he asked me what was I most excited about. Stephen used my top choice by proposing on our gondola ride. I genuinely had no idea in the moment because I was in such awe of the sights. I wondered why he was fidgeting around, but was too distracted to question. After he asked, "Do you think you’d be able to live with my quirks forever?' And my joking reply was, 'Yah, I don’t know, maybe.' I’m sure glad he still had the courage to ask me to marry him!"

Stephen: "We had planned a trip to Europe in November-December of 2018 while I was between duty stations. On the trip, we were planning on going to Zurich, Switzerland and several places in Italy-- including Venice. I thought this would be the perfect place to propose. I carried the ring around hidden in my backpack while we explored the city on November 26th, but I decided to pop the question while we were on a gondola ride...which is not easy to try and get down on one knee on!"

Britton- describe Stephen in three words:
Britton: "Stephen is conscientious, honest and patience. He thinks about all possibilities before making decisions-- including myself. His honesty is authentic and unwavering. Most of all, he is a God-fearing and patient man. I am indescribably thankful for who he is, and who he will be as we grow together as husband and wife."

Stephen-- describe Britton on three words:

Stephen: "Britton is outgoing, loving and beautiful."

Matt + Mary Katherine {engagement} :: Auburn, Ala.

How did you two meet?

Mary Katherine: "Matt and I met through my older brother, Bo, in 2010 at Quixotes. Matt and Bo had recently started a band together, The Bama Gamblers, and I drove from Tuscaloosa to Auburn to watch them play for the first time. I remember immediately thinking he was so cute the first time I saw him. Matt and I became close friends quickly, and once I transferred to Auburn in 2012 we saw each other pretty much everyday. In 2013, we finally stopped trying to convince everyone, including ourselves, that we were just friends and became a couple! A few months later, he bought me our dog, Waylon, and I’ve been in love with him ever since. He’s truly my best friend and my favorite person!"

Matt: "The first time we met was at a bar in Auburn called Quixote’s now referred to
as 'Q’s' by the college kids. I was on stage playing with a band that happened
to have her brother as the bass player. We didn’t really talk that much to each
other that night, but as the band progressed, we started seeing each other
more and more often."

What are some things you two enjoy doing together?
Mary Katherine: "We really love to do anything and everything together! Our favorite thing to do is probably go see live music. We have been to SO many concerts over the past six years. We also love to do anything with Waylon, so we spend lots of time at the park. Matt won’t ever admit it, but he loves watching reality TV with me so we do that together too."

Matt: "One of our favorite things to do together is take Waylon to the park. That’s
where the idea to propose at the park with Waylon there came from. Another
one of our favorite things to do is to watch American Idol while eating dinner
in the bed."

How and when did Matt propose?

Matt: "I proposed on September 30, 2018, at Kiesel Park in Auburn, Al (the same place that our incredible engagement pictures were taken). It was the day before our fifth anniversary and it was about 90 degrees but felt like a 110 to me. We walked our normal route with Waylon (our 5 year old puppy) and I was doing my best to keep my cool when we finally made it to a bench on the back trail of the park. After a couple of minutes of fumbling through my words, I hit one knee and vividly remember MK’s hand shaking furiously as I asked her to marry me. The details get a little fuzzy after that but I’m assuming she said yes since we’re getting married in December!"

Mary Katherine: "We got engaged on September 30, 2018-- also known as the hottest day of the entire year (in my opinion.) We love to take our dog, Waylon, out to Kiesel Park on Sundays to let him run off some energy. That Sunday was like any other Sunday, except I did NOT want to go. It was HOT and we had been to the Auburn game the day before. However, Matt was insisting that we go. We walked our normal route, and I thought Matt was acting totally normal-- other than the fact that he was drenched in sweat. We decided to take a break and sit down on a bench. Of course right when we sit down, Waylon darts into the woods, so I had to go after him. When I came back, Matt was awkwardly standing next to the bench and grabbed my hands. He said a bunch of words that I’m 100% sure he had not rehearsed and finally dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him! I was totally caught off guard. We celebrated that night with our favorites-- Chinese food and Kardashians. Hands down best day of my life and easiest decision I’ve ever made!"

Matt-- describe Mary Katherine in three words:

Matt: "Three words is difficult!

Hilarious-- especially when she’s not trying to be
Bright-- personality-wise and intelligence-wise
Loving-- in order to take care of Waylon and me there has to be a lot
of love there!”

Mary Katherine-- describe Matt in three words:

Mary Katherine: "Kind-- to know Matt truly is to love him. I constantly hear people talk about how kind and considerate Matt is-- and it’s so true. He has the kindest heart and the sweetest soul. Everyone loves him-- my friends love him more than they love me, and I love that! He can talk to anyone and would give you the shirt off his back before you even realized you needed it. He’s never judgmental and is so sweet. He gives the BEST hugs and lights up every room he walks into. I love my 'Mr. Kind Eyes.'

Patient-- Matt is probably the most patient person I have ever met. Trust me when I say that because I test his patience on a daily basis. Whether he is teaching guitar lessons at work or simply being a friend, he is patient and understanding. He is the definition of a partner in all aspects-- a shoulder to cry on, a confidence booster and the ultimate listener all while never getting frustrated. He’s my favorite person to talk things through with because he can always help me see things from a different perspective-- and will let me ramble until I run out of energy!

Talented-- Matt is one of the most talented guitar players I’ve ever seen! Every time he plays, there are literally groups of people standing in front of him staring in awe. There was even one time where the crowd started chanting his name (you know he loved that!) I see his face truly light up with joy when he’s playing guitar and seeing him so genuinely happy makes me so happy. The passion he has for playing guitar is contagious, and I love watching him be so incredibly dedicated to something. I am so thankful for Matt, ALL of his guitars, and that Bama Gamblers show in 2010 which led me to this man that is 1,000 times better than anything I could have ever imagined!"

Parker + Lexie {engagement} :: Montgomery, Ala.
