How did you two meet?
Lorin: "Hunter and I first met when we were in sixth grade at Huntsville Middle School. I used to think Hunter was soooo cute with his long bowl cut and huge cow lick. Shortly after meeting, we became boyfriend and girlfriend, and then we attended our first middle school spring dance together. Our sixth grade fling only lasted a few months, and then we remained friends throughout middle and high school. For a few years after high school, we lost touch and would occasionally run into each other hanging out with mutual friends when Hunter would come home on breaks from school. My son, Grayson and I moved into a new house around the same time Hunter moved back to Huntsville from chiropractic school. We ended up being next-door neighbors. Like, right next door. For the first few weeks of being neighbors, Hunter, Grayson and I spent every night sitting out back talking and hanging out. Our dogs even became best friends! It didn't take long before I had fallen in love with my neighbor."
Hunter: "I came home on break from school and saw Lorin at a mutual friend's party. I hadn't seen Lorin in about five years or more, and I remember thinking: 'My gosh! She is so hot! I need to rekindle this middle school dream.' We ended up keeping in touch throughout the last couple of years of school. After moving back to Huntsville, we ended up being next-door neighbors and have been together ever since."
How and when did Hunter propose?
Lorin: "Hunter proposed on the Fourh of July. We had no plans for the holiday and were just going to 'go with the flow.' (Hunter's idea) I am the type of person that needs to have a plan and know exactly what we are going to do, but I agreed to relax and enjoy the day. We spent the day at Hunter's parents' house hanging out by the pool with our friends, Alex and Brooke. Apparently throughout the day, Hunter and Alex had been working on a plan for all of us to go watch a firework show from one of their office building rooftops. I had no idea what was going on and actually was panicking that we were going to miss the fireworks! Once we were there, the view on the rooftop was amazing! We were overlooking the Space & Rocket Center and next thing I know, Hunter was down on one knee! I had absolutely no idea! It was such a surprise and so special. I am so glad that we had our friends there to share that special moment with us."
What are some things y'all like to do together?
Lorin: "Everything. We really do love doing pretty much anything together. Hunter and I just enjoy laughing, joking around and having a good time together! We both love summertime, the outdoors and anything that involves being on the water-- so really enjoy taking the boat out on the lake, being at the beach or just hanging out by the pool. Hunter has a two-year-old Lab and I have a two-year-old GSP/Weimaraner who are best friends! We love taking them to swim and just letting them run around together. Hunter has SO MANY hobbies. He loves golfing, fishing, hunting, so I often tag along with him. Overall, we just love having fun!"
Lorin-- describe Hunter in three words:
Funny-- this is the first word that comes to my mind when describing Hunter because it is probably one of the qualities I love most about him. Hunter makes me laugh hysterically on a daily basis. There is never a dull moment at home with him...EVER. He makes life fun, and I can't wait to spend forever laughing with him every day.
Caring-- this is one of the qualities that made me fall in love with Hunter. He has such a big heart! He is always willing to help anyone and everyone and genuinely cares about the feelings of others. He is the greatest partner and the most amazing step-dad to Grayson. From taking Grayson hunting, going to baseball and basketball games, or just playing video games together-- it makes my heart so happy to see how much Hunter cares and loves. Grayson and I are so blessed to have him!
Positive-- Hunter is a positive person in many different ways. He is so laid-back, caring and funny that he brings such a positive energy every where he goes, which is one of the many things I love about him. Hunter also has such a positive outlook on life. No matter how crazy and hectic a situation may be, Hunter is always so optimistic.
Hunter-- describe Lorin in three words.
Firecracker-- Lorin is hot like a firecracker. She has always been a very strong minded woman who has never been afraid to speak her mind. She is fearless and forthright. She is loud and outspoken, and always a joy to be around. She is my little firecracker.
Thoughtful-- anyone who knows Lorin, knows that she wears her heart on her sleeve. She is considerate, attentive and always in some way looking out for others. She is very in-tune with her emotions and believe me-- she is not scared to shed a few tears.
Mother-- above all, Lorin is a mother. She is caring, loving and supportive. She will be at every sporting event or after school activity even if it means missing a little sleep. She cares more about supporting and caring for us as a family than she does for her own self.
