How did you to meet?
Chandler: "One of my co-workers introduced us. Her husband and Mitch are long time friends, and she had previously mentioned that she thought we should get to know each other. She asked if she could give him my number. At the time, he was working in Pensacola, FL, so we starting talking on the phone and texting a little. I had seen pictures of Mitch, so I knew he was good-looking, but my first thought was that he was really tall and had a huge smile that immediately made me feel at ease. The next time he was in town, he asked me to dinner, and we ended up riding around talking for a few hours afterwards. He asked me to go on a second date before he dropped me off that night, and neither of us ever looked back.
Mitch: "I was really nervous, but my first thought when I saw her was that she was beautiful. I could tell right away that she was a really sweet person."
How did Mitch propose?
Chandler: "Mitch proposed on April 22, 2017. Some of our first dates were going for walks or throwing a Frisbee at the park. So it wasn't out of the ordinary when he told me we were going to meet my sister and brother-in-law at the park that morning before going to an Auburn baseball game that afternoon and a concert that night. When we arrived we met up with my sister and brother-in-law, and Mitch said he left something in the car and would be right back. The three of us threw the Frisbee while we waited on Mitch. The next thing I knew he was behind me on one knee. I couldn't tell you what exactly he said. It was all a blur, but I know he asked me to marry him, and I know I said, 'yes!' We then went to my parents' house where he had planned a celebration with our families and friends. He even had one my best friends fly into town from Colorado for the weekend. It was absolutely one of the best days of my life."
Chandler-- what's one thing you admire most about Mitch?
Chandler: "It is hard to name just one because there are so many things I admire about Mitch. I most admire the way he loves the Lord and seeks to grow closer to Him. But secondly, I admire Mitch's enthusiasm for life. Whether it is loving me, pursuing his career, or being a loyal friend, brother and son-- Mitch is all in, all the time. He makes life fun, and he is continuously teaching me to see the good in everyone and find the positive in every situation."
Mitch-- what's one thing you admire most about Chandler?
Mitch: "I admire her loving heart and kind spirit. She loves Jesus, and I'm grateful she is committed to being my companion for life. I also admire that she always knows what to say to keep me calm and level-headed, and she makes me want to strive to be better."
What are some things you two do enjoy doing together?
Chandler: "We honestly enjoy doing anything as long as we are together. We love to be outside so most weekends include a run, a hike or a tennis match. We both have wonderful families, so we enjoy spending time with our parents and siblings. We attend lots of Auburn sporting events together, and we both cherish our date nights whether going out to dinner followed by O Town Ice Cream or ordering take-out and watching football (or NASCAR) at home."
These two are saying, 'I do,' on Nov. 4, and I can't wait to document it! -Brooke
